Bluebird Trails
Did you know golf courses were prime real estate for bluebirds?
The Eastern bluebird has been the official state bird of Missouri since 1927. The bluebird is considered a symbol of happiness. To keep the bluebirds happy we maintain two bluebird trails.
Trail One - 10 boxes -7 on St. Peters Golf Course, 2 adjacent to the golf course and one at Rabbit Run. installed November 3, 2021.
19+ successful fledgling in 2022
Trail Two - 5 boxes at Old Hickory Golf Club installed December 5, 2022.
Trail Three - 7 boxes at Whitmoor Golf Course installed March 12, 2024.
Volunteers monitor, clean and care for the boxes.

All the bluebird houses on our trails are made by our bluebird expert Ron Darling, a member of the Missouri Bluebird Society. He is always willing to share Information on how to make your own bluebird house, as well as advice on attracting bluebirds and maintaining the houses.
